The Jerusalem Post reports:

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon warned that Lebanon will not be a fully sovereign state until Hizbullah, and other militia groups are disbanded.

“Hizbullah’s maintenance of separate military assets and infrastructure is a fundamental challenge to the government’s attempts to consolidate the sovereignty and authority of the Lebanese state,” he wrote in a six-month report to the UN Security Council, obtained Thursday by The Associated Press.

“In addition, several Palestinian militias operate in the country, inside and outside of refugee camps,” said the secretary general, adding that they also undermine the stability of the country and the region.

No country can claim full sovereignty over its land if an armed group (other than that nation’s army) controls parts of its territory. Yet, in Lebanon, a political party has its own heavily armed militia. They control a major portion of the country, one where the Lebanese Armed Forces almost fear to tread. UN Resolution 1701 and prior UN Resolution 1559 called for the unconditional disarmament of Hizbullah. Not only has Hizbullah repeatedly declared it will not be disarmed but has, since the summer of 2006, rearmed and retrained to much higher levels than prior to the last Lebanese War. More importantly they are nothing more than a tool of Iran’s imperialist designs on the Middle East. It’s no secret who runs the strings attached to Hassan Nasrallah’s back, it is no secret who trains and finances his minions.

In 2006 UNIFIL’s mandate included overseeing the disarmament of Hizbullah. Immediately after Israel accepted the cease fire, Koffi Annan diluted UNIFIL’s original mandate by removing from them the responsibility of disarming Hizbullah. As a result of such treachery, as a result of such a cowardly unilateral abrogation of the original terms of the cease fire, Hizbullah is more than ever before a state within a state. Though they are not a majority by any means, Hizbullah – following their successful May putsch – now holds the right of veto over any decision made by the democratically elected Lebanese government of PM Siniora. In other words an Iranian puppet has the ultimate power to allow or deny whatever Lebanon’s democratically elected majority government decides on.

Who is to blame for this state of affairs? A number of disgusting players share the blame for the current bad state of affairs

Israeli PM Allmerde and his Commander in Chief of the IDF run a disastrous campaign. The fact is it could have been a shorter war, one that would have completely destroyed Hizbullah if the ground forces waiting at the border had been allowed to get in and do their job. Hizbullah was already demoralized and on the run, yet it was saved by the UN mandated cease fire bell. Allmerde, at the time, accepted the cease fire because – as he idiotically put it – he did not want to see any soldiers killed… One must therefore wonder, why on earth he even bothered going to war?!? Surely, even a mental retard would know that if you go to war, soldiers will die! Stupidity reigns supreme!

The UN Security Council stabbed Israel in the back after Israel agreed to the original cease fire terms. But they also had an unintended victim. The Lebanese nation is the ultimate victim of the UN’s cowardly doublecross, by changing the terms to favor Hizbullah, the UN screwed the very Lebanese democracy they were supposed to help. Outrage!

Lebanese FM Siniora could have withstood the unfair demands of Hizbullah last May and thereby taught the Iranian puppets and Assad Jr. a real lesson in democratic power, instead of giving up power to Ahmedinajad and his puppetmasters. He too is another non-illustrious member of the club of political fools too scared of their own shadow to stand up for their people. Pity!

What a comedy of losers! Except…  there is no laughter, only tears as the evil cackle of Hassan Nasrallah, the putrid little maggot Ahmedinajad and that murderer par excellence Baby Assad rises up throughout Lebanon. Shame!
