Ever since 9/11, the Left has missed no opportunity to point out the Bush family’s extensive ties with Saudi Arabia. It was, they said, proof that America was in bed with the Riyahd and basically it hinted very strongly that our policy was somehow directed by the Saudis. I agree that an American policy directed by the Royal House of Saud and its agents in this country, most notably Royal House of Saud Consigliere James “F… the Jews” Baker, would spell a disaster for our nation. Suddenly, under the Obamessiah, tight governmental ties with the Saudis are (miraculously!) no longer considered a threat to our national security!

Former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Charles Freeman, will most likely be named to the post of National Intelligence Council Chairman by President Obama. What’s the problem? A quick perusal at Charles Freeman’s Biography will show he’s had an illustrious career in our country’s foreign service. Now, let us examine his interests and work since those days:

Yid With Lid posted the following:

Here is another tidbit that may surprise the 78% of American Jews who voted for Barack Obama. According to a report in Cable Foreign Policy, Chas W. Freeman Jr. former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia is about to be named as Chairman of the National Intelligence Council.

Sources tell The Cable that Chas W. Freeman, Jr., the former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia, will become chairman of the National Intelligence Council, the intelligence community’s primary big-think shop and the lead body in producing national intelligence estimates.

For those who are not familiar with the former Ambassador, he is a terrorist apologist and a master of bashing Israel. Freeman is a believer of the false premise that ALL MUSLIM TERRORISM stems from Israel’s battle with the Palestinians:

To restore our reputation we must correct these policies. And the problem of terrorism that now bedevils us has its origins in one region the Middle East. To end this terrorism we must address the issues in the region that give rise to it.

Principal among these is the brutal oppression of the Palestinians by an Israeli occupation that is about to mark its fortieth anniversary and shows no sign of ending. Arab identification with Palestinian suffering, once variable in its intensity, is now total. American identification with Israeli policy has also become total. Those in the region and beyond it who detest Israeli behavior, which is to say almost everyone, now naturally extend their loathing to Americans. This has had the effect of universalizing anti-Americanism, legitimizing radical Islamism, and gaining Iran a foothold among Sunni as well as Shiite Arabs. For its part, Israel no longer even pretends to seek peace with the Palestinians; it strives instead to pacify them. Palestinian retaliation against this policy is as likely to be directed against Israel’s American backers as against Israel itself. Under the circumstances, such retaliation form it takes will have the support or at least the sympathy of most people in the region and many outside it. This makes the long-term escalation of terrorism against the United States a certainty, not a matter of conjecture. Source

Freeman’s premise is a fallacy:

“Osama bin Laden made his explosions and then started talking about the Palestinians. He never talked about them before.” — Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak (Newsweek, October 29, 2001)

Even Yasser Arafat told the Sunday Times of London that bin Laden should stop hiding behind the Palestinian cause. Bin Laden “never helped us, he was working in another completely different area and against our interests,” Arafat said. (Washington Post, December 16, 2002)
Does the good former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia really know something about Osama bin Laden that neither Arafat, nor Egypt’s President Mubarak ever knew? Or… is he making things up to fit a particular agenda?!?!?

Chas also feels that Israel has no right to expect Hamas to renounce violence, and believes that the only reason Israel insists on it is to delay peace talks:

The fact is, of course, that Israeli occupation and settlement of Arab lands is inherently violent.Occupations are acts of violence. The dispossession of people from their land is an act of violence. Preventing people from coming to and going from their own country is an act of violence. And as long as such Israeli violence against Palestinians continues, it is utterly unrealistic to expect that Palestinians will stand down from violent resistance and retaliation against Israelis. Mr. Sharon is far from a stupid man; he understands this. So, when he sets the complete absence of Palestinian violence as a precondition for implementing the road map or any other negotiating process, he is deliberately setting a precondition he knows can never be met. Source

Yeah, dem Jooz in that dar Zioniss Entity have no right to insist on peaceful coexistence, Palestinians have no need to first demonstrate their ability to join the brotherhood of civilized nations by renouncing all terrorist actions… as long as that terror is directed at dem Jooz today so that tomorrow it can be directed at the Europeans, Americans and whatever infidels don’t get the message… yep, yep makes sense!

And that the US should be engaging Terrorists:

Our backing of Israel’s efforts to pacify the Palestinians rather than to negotiate peace with them has discredited us as peacemakers without gaining security for Israel. Our attempt to isolate the democratically elected Palestinian government has further discredited us as supporters of democratization in the region. Among other results, our policy has quite predictably left Hamas nowhere to go but deeper into the embrace of Iran. Source

I guess Chas forgets that before Iran was funding the terrorists, it was Iraq and the USSR funding Hamas.

The pick of Chas W. Freeman, Jr to head the NIC is just another example of the new US President’s plan to change US policy toward Israel. A few of the most recent of the many other examples are the selection of Samantha Power to the NSC and the decision to involve the US State Department with the follow up to the Anti-Israel/Anti-Semitic “Durban II” UN Confernce on Racism.

UPDATE: Freeman Publishes a Vicious Anti Israel Journal
The name Chas Freeman Jr. has been “floated” in the media as President Obama’s selection for Chairman of the National Intelligence Council, the intelligence community’s primary big-think shop and the lead U.S. governmental body in producing national intelligence estimates.

For the last dozen years, Freeman, the former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, has been President of the Middle East Policy Council (formally known as the American Arab Affairs Council) a Lobbying group for the Arab World. One of the groups primary functions is to Publish a quarterly journal called Middle East Policy. The Journal is filled with anti-Israel messages that are beyond even the broadest definition of mainstream of U.S. thinking on the region. As the President of the the organization responsible for this Journal, who’s viciousness and willing to show bias, the appointment of Freeman as a gatekeeper for U.S. Intelligence is a very disturbing matter.

The Chairman of the National Intelligence Council, is just like the editor of a journal. He must review edit, add context to and decide what to present in terms of good intelligence. Therefore it is reasonable to predict his handling of the NIC job through his work as President of MPEC and the Journal which is published under his authority, Middle East Policy.

The honorable Ambassador received a $1 million grant for Research from the Saudi government for his Middle East Policy Council (formally known as the American Arab Affairs Council), making him a defacto FOREGN paid lobbyist, yet Obama proudly once proclaimed there would be no lobbyists as part of his administration… Just some of that change he promised I guess…

While there is a pro-Israel lobby, AIPAC, it receives it’s funding from American citizens only, NOT FROM A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT!

How did Charles Freeman use MEPC’s funds? For starters, he wasted no time publishing a book that makes the ridiculous claim that as British explorers came to these shores they found Iroquois and Algonquin chieftains with such curious names as Abdul Rahim and Abdallah ibn Malik. If the good Ambassador can so blatantly lie in a textbook on Arab World Studies for American teachers, funded by his puppet-masters at the Royal House of Saud, can he really be trusted to give the President a true picture of intelligence reports that is not tainted by his prejudices and transparent lies?!?!? The obvious answer to this question, gentle reader, is a resounding NO!!

As for his position on Afghanistan, the Investor’s Business Daily (H/T: Yid With Lid) says:

His position on Afghanistan? Let the Taliban run it again, a burning desire of his Saudi patrons, who originally funded and recognized the fundamentalist Taliban regime.

Freeman does business with the bin Laden family in Saudi Arabia, and in the weeks after 9/11 he didn’t even consider halting his dealings with them. Through his firm, Projects International Inc., he continued discussing proposals with the bin Ladens, who also contribute heavily to the Middle East Policy Council.

As for Freeman’s position on China, the IBD tells us:

Freeman also co-chairs the U.S. China Policy Foundation, part of the pro-China lobby. His son works for the China Alliance, which advises clients on China trade.

The elder Freeman, who once worked at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, apologized for the communist regime’s bloody crackdown on young Tiananmen demonstrators. If anything, it was “overly cautious,” he said, ignoring how the Beijing butchers turned the pro-democracy students into human paste with their tanks.

“I do not believe it is acceptable for any country to allow the heart of its capital to be occupied by dissidents intent on disrupting the normal functions of government,” he added.

Never mind if “normal” means communist police state.

Freeman also would let Beijing annex democratic Taiwan. “My own view is that reunification would be very beneficial for all concerned,” he told China’s official state organ, the People’s Daily. “It would remove the only potential cause of conflict between the U.S. and China.”

That’s his new boss’s attitude, too. Blair once called Taiwan the “turd in the punch bowl” of U.S.-China relations.

Taiwan has for years been a staunch American ally, that matters little to Freeman’s skewed view of the world, but… let us continue:

[...]Both Freeman and Blair want to return to the Clinton administration’s Chinese “engagement” policy. Freeman served as Clinton’s assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs before leaving to lobby for China.

It’s no coincidence that a PLA general used him to deliver a thinly veiled threat to the White House over Taiwan, warning that the U.S. risks a Chinese nuclear strike if it intervenes in a conflict between China and Taiwan.

Freeman also apologized for Beijing’s clumsy influence-buying during the 1996 Clinton-Gore campaign, arguing that it was simply trying to compete with the Taiwan lobby.

Blair says the country is fortunate to have Freeman contributing his “remarkable skills toward further strengthening the intelligence community’s analytical process.”

We’re just not sure how pandering to foreign dictators is a worthy analytical skill.

I think the IBD is being unfair in its judgement of Ambassador Freeman, as long as he can benefit monetarily from his ties to Saudi Arabia, China, the Bin Laden family, why should he care more about America’s best interests? Don’t you agree, gentle reader?

Should Charles Freeman become the next National Intelligence Council Chairman? Can he be trusted to put aside his prejudices and personal business interests in favor of an unbiased and true reading of America’s best interest? The obvious answer to this question, gentle reader, is a resounding NO!!

Curiously the good Ambassador finds a staunch defender in the least expected place… A certain MJ Rosenberg, who also sports an impressive resume in government service at the State Department, has come out swinging in defense of Chas Freeman in spite of the latter’s tarnished record. But when one reads Rosenberg’s posts in defense of Freeman, it turns out they do not address the ambassador’s record at all, rather, they attack and try to character assassinate his detractors. You can read his attacks here:

The neocon crazies are all beside themselves about Freeman’s likely appointment. The rap on him (see the links Rozen provides). is that he has spoken out against the occupation and is too close to the Saudis. Of course, as Aaron Miller pointed out yesterday, the Israelis and the Saudis are pretty much on the same side these days. The Saudi Ambassador told me that personally – just as he tells it to everyone he meets who is close to Israel. His mantra: the same people who want to destroy Israel and who hate the United States want to destroy us. The Israeli government feels the same way and is eager to have good relations with Saudi Arabia. In fact, to a large extent, it already does.

[...]I just can’t get over the idea that a guy on trial for espionage has the temerity to take on a lifelong public servant for not being loyal to the country that he, Steve Rosen, is accused by the United States of being too loyal to.

It is as if Rosen doesn’t get the gravity of being accused of espionage. But, of course, he never served in the United States government, has never had to be sworn in for a government position, and has never had to get a high-level security clearance.

I have. It’s lots of fun. All your neighbors get to talk about you to G-men and discuss how often they see liquor bottles in your trash and whether you have any extreme attachment to any foreign powers. They also ask if they know if you ever, ever, smoked marijuana (so it’s a good idea not to light up a joint in the local playground).

Obviously, I was clean and cleared. But I did commit a security violation once at the State Department. I left some innocent file on my desk and went home. The next day, when I came back to work, the doorway was laced with yellow tape and the words SECURITY VIOLATION screamed out at me from everywhere. I felt really ashamed. I did not let that happen again.

Why am I telling you this? It is because I cannot fathom how Rosen has the gall to even express an opinion on anything related to Israel publicly. And I am even more amazed that anyone would ever quote anything he had to say.

I guess it seems fair and balanced in Rosenberg’s mind that when progressives, like him, disliked a possible appointment by Dubya that was merely patriotic dissent, but for anyone to disagree with Obama’s suggested choice well… it is obvious they have ulterior motives, a nefarious agenda! Makes sense, don’t you agree, gentle reader?

In the paragraphs above Rosenberg quotes a conversation he had with the Saudi Ambassador to the US where the Ambassador said: the same people who want to destroy Israel and who hate the United States want to destroy us. Impressive! Except… while the Saudi ambassador may use such words when talking to everyone he meets who is close to Israel, actions are far more eloquent than mere words. The Taliban in Afghanistan came to power with the help of Saudi funding, Muslim education advocating the superiority of Islam and eventual defeat of all infidels is also financed by Saudi Arabia throughout the West, including the US. Do we still believe in the sincerity of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador? Shall we give full credence to his words?!? MJ Rosenberg has served for many years in the US government and honorably passed a full security clearance, is he really that naive or does Rosenberg have an agenda?

In reference to Steve Rosen, whom Rosenberg attacks ruthlessly over alleged spying, Yid With Lid points out:

A wonderful thing about the American justice system is that a person is considered innocent until proven guilty. Rosen has not been convicted, in fact by most accounts the prosecution is in a bit of trouble. So if Rosenberg were to be truthful, based on his account above, it is MJ Rosenberg that is the only one who has been proven to have made any sort of security violation.

In America everyone gets first amendment rights, Steve Rosen has the right to speak out on ANY issue he chooses, not simply because in the eyes of the law he is still innocent, because all Americans have the right to speak out. Even people like Timothy Geitner and Charles Rangel, both of whom are admitted tax cheats.

The good, honorable, proud, former US State Department employee – MJ Rosenberg – sees no problem with admitted tax cheats serving in the government and speaking out about whatever is on their mind, especially when it will immediately impact your taxes and mine! Is he really that naive or does Rosenberg have an agenda?

Rosenberg, in a blatant display of blind arrogance, shows himself unwilling to look at his own smug persona and with McCarthy like cunning and character assassination accuses everyone he disagrees with of… McCarthy like tactics:

Then there is this call to hold McCarthy type hearings on Freeman. Naturally Eric Cantor a pro-settlement up-and-coming neo from Virginia is leading the charge.

There is more but I think you already get the drift of Rosenberg’s positions. So who is MJ Rosenberg? The Director of Policy for the Israel Policy Forum describes himself as a “scribbler.” My, my, what a sudden attack of humbleness!

What is the Israel Policy Forum? The Jerusalem Post mentioned it on an article on George Soros on October 12, 2006:

According to a Jewish Telegraphic Agency report, Soros and his wealthy Jewish American friends have now decided to aim their fire directly at Israel. Soros has invited Lewis and other North American Jewish plutocrats like Charles and Edgar Bronfman to join forces with him and leftist Jewish American organizations including American Friends of Peace Now, the Israel Policy Forum, Brit Tzedek v’Shalom, and the Reform movement’s Religious Action Center to form a political lobby that will weaken the influence of the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC.

Many of the individuals and organizations associated with the initiative have actively worked to undermine Israel. Soros caused a storm in 2003 when, during a fund-raising conference for Israel he alleged that Israel was partially responsible for the rise in anti-Semitic violence in Europe because of its harsh response to Palestinian terrorism.

In November 2005, the leaders of the Israel Policy Forum met with Rice and pushed her to dismiss Israel’s legitimate security concerns regarding the operation of the Gaza Strip’s border crossing points at Rafah and Karni. Following their advice, Rice aggressively and publicly pressured Israel to make dangerous concessions to the Palestinians that involved Israel’s relinquishment of effective control over its own borders.

After Israel capitulated to Rice and an agreement was reached, Seymour Reich, one of the founders of the Israel Policy Forum, crowed, “I have no doubt that we bolstered the secretary of state’s instincts and strengthened her opinion that aggressive American involvement was needed to achieve practical results.”

[...]According to the JTA account, Soros would like to institutionalize the ad-hoc coalition’s success in undermining the Palestinian Anti-Terror Act in a new lobby. Its founders all insist that theirs is a pro-Israel group. Yet scrutiny of the groups’ organizational and individual members’ actions leads to the inevitable conclusion that far from acting to promote Israel, this new lobby will work to weaken Israel, to weaken the Israel-American alliance and to strengthen Israel’s enemies. While its Jewish founders insist that they are pro-Israel, the fact of the matter is that they are about to establish an American Jewish anti-Israel lobby.

The Israel Policy Forum was a part of the left wing syndicate that aligned itself with America and Israel lover George Soros, Israel’s legitimate security concerns regarding the operation of the Gaza Strip’s border crossing points at Rafah and Karni… Yes, it is all too obvious how much the IPF cares about Israel’s legitimate security, dont you think so?

Soros has invited Lewis and other North American Jewish plutocrats like Charles and Edgar Bronfman to join forces with him and leftist Jewish American organizations including American Friends of Peace Now, the Israel Policy Forum, Brit Tzedek v’Shalom, and the Reform movement’s Religious Action Center to form a political lobby that will weaken the influence of the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC. That new political lobby is currently known as J-Street, it was funded by left wing financier and political king maker George Soros (Schwartz). How effective is J-Street with its left wing agenda that will eventually (if successful) strip Israel of its Jewish character and destroy it? Extremist liberal publication, Mother Jones, raves about it. More importantly, as Israel National News wrote this past January, Israel’s haters all hail J-Street:

According to the JTA account, Soros would like to institutionalize the ad-hoc coalition’s success in undermining the Palestinian Anti-Terror Act in a new lobby.

Given all the above it is obvious that while it is absolutely President Obama’s right to name whoever he chooses to the post of NIC Chairman, truly concerned Americans have every right and patriotic obligation to express their concerns about Ambassador Freeman. As for MJ Rosenberg, yes he absolutely does have an agenda but it it not the security of America’s staunchest ally and the only true democracy in the Middle East. In fact, judging by his defense of Chas Freeman, his agenda obviously does not even include the security of the United States he once so proudly served!

Freeman is just a mercenary who will do anything for the House of Saud, mainland China, and whoever else may spare him a dime

  2. United States Abraham from New York, United States on March 3rd, 2009 12:26 pm

Chas Freeman Jr. is not our man in the National Intelligence Council, no. He is THEIR man. When he got a one million dollar grant openly from the Saudis, it makes me person wonder how many millions went under the table that were not granted openly. To me, that means he is their man (Saudi Arabia’s).
The Saudis are in a strange position which they don’t like. They want to do as much as they can to follow the koran and kill all those who don’t accept the koran. At the same time, they are forced to deal with many of the terrorist types who want the killing done sooner, because the terrorists consider themselves more religious. The Saudis hate those very same terrorists because they fear the terrorists will grab Saudi Arabia from under their noses. Of course the terrorists actually are more more religious, because they want to murder even more people, especially Jews and Americans. As you know, the more you kill the more religious you are.
Let me make the same prediction I made a month ago and two weeks ago, and last week again.
Not only should America withdraw its troops from that whole infected area, Americans should learn what i did; leave the Moslems alone and just sit back and watch the show. The Moslems will continue to kill more of their own Moslems than all the other countries and religions COMBINED.

By the way, George Soros in a wild attempt to regain at least a tiny part of his ruined reputation, is reaching out to Bronfman to legitimize himself and vindicate his anti Jewish persona. He hopes that people will remember to judge people by the company they keep.
    Prediction
Watch tomorrow’s newspaper, or even next week’s newspaper. There will be some story telling us how some Moslems killed somewhere killed other Moslems. Relax and sleep for a few days. Then, get up and read any newspaper or watch any TV news show. On that day, whatever day it is, there will be news about Moslems killing Moslems. Today is Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Watch the news as the killings continue.
Of course, while they continue to murder each other in so many countries all over the world, they will be screaming at Israel for killing Moslems in Gaza.
Let’s just remember that their hero Bin Laden has been responsible for the deaths of more Moslems than all those killed in history. They will not scream about the Moslems he has killed, no. They call their biggest enemy, a hero. Bin Laden the hero! Ha.
