Israeli High Tech Startups

Israel has become known, in recent years, as “Silicon Valley II” and for good reason! The local high-tech industry has been developing new products at record speed. Foreign investors are very keen to invest money as their past forays have reaped huge profits. Israel has recently celebrated the sixtieth anniversary of its independence. It has been blessed with everything except natural resources. Despite the lack of oil or natural gas, found everywhere else in the region, despite the constant threat of war and terrorism, the country has excelled financially. High tech companies dot the landscape developing almost everything imaginable under the sun. Israel is by far the most developed and modern country in the Middle East largely because of it its high tech achievements

Today, almost 200 Israeli companies are traded on the NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX equity markets. Investors have long learned that Israel companies make money. Some of the reasons may be that many former high tech managers and developers have moved to Israel bringing with them their expertise and love for innovation. Another reason is the relatively lower salaries in Israel, as opposed to those in the United States. This means less initial investment and larger profits down the line.

Factories, R&D centers, software houses, have opened up everywhere in Israel. The central region dominates as the center of Israel’s high tech, but high tech companies in the Galilee, the Golan Heights, and the Negev are making gigantic strides to become powerhouses themselves. The trend of increasing distribution to development towns is moving full speed ahead.

One new company, right in the heart of the high tech area, is situated in Herzlyia. It’s software is yet another search machine… but with a twist! It is called Gogimon.
