Adnkronos International.com reports:

Terrorism: Italian PM and Christian convert targets of Islamist death threats

Dubai, 17 June (AKI) – (By Hamza Boccolini) – Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and a prominent Italian journalist who recently converted to Christianity, are the targets of new death threats posted on one of the most popular Islamist websites said to be close to al-Qaeda, on Tuesday. The threats are aimed at Berlusconi and Magdi Allam, an Egyptian-born newspaper editor who converted from Islam to Roman Catholicism during the Vatican’s Easter vigil in April 2008.

A writer and deputy editor of Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Allam was named the winner of the prestigious Oriana Fallaci journalism award on Monday night for writing about immigration, Muslim integration and terrorism.

Previous threats to the Italian premier were made in Arabic but Tuesday’s internet message was for the first time posted completely in Italian with the title, ‘Berlusconi and Magdi Allam’.

“They are two dead men walking.. just like Falcone ..” an apparent reference to the anti-Mafia judge, Giovanni Falcone, who prosecuted the Sicilian Cosa Nostra. He and his wife were assassinated in a bombing in 1992.

“A coded message? Perhaps!” says the internet message.

Reading these words and comparing the language used by various Arab al-Qaeda cells seems more of a provocation than a coded message to a dormant cell.

The latest death threats, posted directly in Italian, are different to those that targeted Berlusconi in the past when they were posted only in Arabic.

However, messages of this kind recognised by experts and usually present in the speeches of al-Qaeda’s second in command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, have time and geographical references that notify his men when to move.

It is not the first time that Berlusconi and Magdi Allam have been targeted by threats. They have been among the preferred targets of the users of such sites.

Another message posted on Tuesday believed to be by the same author suggests an Italian Muslim resident may be using a pseudonym since he knows the community well.

In a reference to the participation of an Islamic association in Gay Pride the writer said: “These are so called ‘moderate Muslims’ that the good old Berlusconi likes”.

“They are two dead men walking.. just like Falcone ..” an apparent reference to the anti-Mafia judge, Giovanni Falcone, who prosecuted the Sicilian Cosa Nostra. He and his wife were assassinated in a bombing in 1992. It is obvious that conversion from Islam is a murder worthy act, it is obvious that political foes earn their deaths. All these, as sanctioned by someone’s sick interpretation of what the misnamed “religion of peace” stands for:

The root word of Islam is “al-silm” which means “submission” or “surrender.” It is understood to mean “submission to Allah.” In spite of whatever noble intention has caused many a Muslim to claim that Islam is derived primarily from peace, this is not true. Allah says in the Qur’an (translated):

[2:136] Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed to us and that which was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have surrendered. [Arabic "Muslimoon"]

These last two paragraphs which I quoted on a post dated April 22, 2007 are from a page on the University of Southern California’s online Compendium of Muslim Texts – uploaded and maintained by USC’s Muslim Student Association. We can, therefore, be assured the translation and etymology of the Word “Islam” were not posted by a hater of Islam, nor are they the product of such a one’s overly fertile imagination.

In light of the threats quoted at the beginning of this post, in light of the meaning of the word “Islam,” it is quite obvious that what pretends to be a religion, while it shares many of the trappings of all creeds, is merely a totalitarian political ideology (at least, as far as some of its current practitioners are concerned!). Freedom of religion and freedom from speech are not acceptable in the eyes of these IslamoFascists. So unacceptable, that lacking the intellect, lacking the finer points of persuasive argumentation to convincingly show their belief system as the better one, they must resort to murder to make their point understood.

It is beyond disgraceful that what pretends to be a religion that protects the People of the Book (Christians and Jews), has degenerated into a belief system that is systematically eradicating Christian churches and their followers from the Holy Land (even though Christians have antedated Muslims in the area by over seven centuries). It is beyond disgraceful that what pretends to be a religion that protects the People of the Book (Christians and Jews), has degenerated into a belief system that preaches hatred and destruction of Jews around Israel, Europe and the West in general.

Meanwhile today’s Adnkronos International.com reports:

Rome, 18 June (AKI) – Magdi Allam, the Christian convert targeted by Islamist death threats, has expressed concern about the danger he faces and fears that the perpetrators may be Italian.

“I find it extremely worrying that today we can find internet sites, full of al-Qaeda-inspired thought in Italian language, giving support to Bin Laden’s terrorism,” said Allam in an interview with Adnkronos International (AKI) on Wednesday.

Allam is an Egyptian-born writer and deputy editor of Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, who converted from Islam to Roman Catholicism in a highly publicised Easter service conducted by Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican in April.

“I find this serious because the writers of these sites are most likely Italians,” Allam told AKI.

“I think that this incident should make us understand that Italy has reached a higher and more advanced phase of Islamic terrorism, radicalism and extremism, as it occurred in Great Britain, France, Holland, Germany and Belgium.”

Allam said the protagonists seemed to be Italians who have converted to Islam and Muslim immigrants who have been ‘Italianised’ as he puts it.

“I am worried that there is a lack of awareness about the seriousness of these developments, which I consider highly dangerous to national security and stability,” told Allam to AKI.

“I consider these extremists and foreign Islamic terrorists even more dangerous because they do not have a real grounding in the linguistic, social and cultural aspects of our country.”

Allam also stressed that Italy should be on a high state of alert, because the terrorists are Italian citizens “who could be our neighbours”, too easily ignored until there is a “tragic accident which forces us to open our eyes”.

Allam has long been a controversial figure in Italy for his regular critiques of Islam.

His conversion to Catholicism provoked an angry response from Muslim clerics and academics in Italy and the Middle East.

In a book entitled, Long Live Israel, Allam said “the root of evil is innate in an Islam that is physiologically violent and historically conflictual.”

Are some Muslims so unsure of themselves and the validity of their beliefs that they are unable to compete freely in the arena of ideas?!? Is their culture so devoid of value, that it can only be spread through brutal violence?!?!? On the one hand they demand for themselves every freedom the West is capable of extending (and I do not begrudge them this at all!). They have no problem preaching multiculturalism when it’s in their benefit to do so but are not, in the least, willing to extend the same courtesies to the infidel majority around them. Democracy does not work that way!

In the West, in any democracy, no skin color, no religious creed, no political persuasion gets any privileges above those extended to all others. In the West the only way to advance, the only accepted way to prosper, is to integrate with society in general while not giving up one’s basic values and traditions. Any group so unwilling to compete fairly does not belong in the West, but back in the hell holes they left!

The West has its share of major flaws, that is undeniable! Democracy is, as Winston Churchill put it, “a horrible system, but it’s the best we got!” Shall we allow this political system that fostered the greatest scientific and technological advancement, the greatest freedoms for mankind, to perish while some would catapult us back into the Dark Ages?!?!?

Freedom of Religion and Freedom from Religion are basic values the enlightened West claims to protect, and yet… What horrible deed will it take to wake us to the scourge of IslamoFascism and its encroachment on every freedom we cherish?!?!?!?
